All the translators and revisers employed by ComTra Inc. have a degree in translation from a Canadian or foreign university and 2 to 30 years of practical experience. Some of our employees have also studied or specialize in areas such as arts and culture, psychology, recreology, sociology, business administration, teaching, the hospitality and restaurant industries, and information technology.

Most of our translators are members of one of the following associations:

  • Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec (OTTIAQ);
  • Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO);
  • Canadian Translators and Interpreters Council (CTIC);
  • Network of Translators in Education (NTE).

Claude Leahey is the founding member of ComTra Inc. Now a reviser, he holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in translation, a bachelor's degree in administration, and a certificate in operational research. He worked for the Translation Bureau as a translator from 1975 to 1976, then as a reviser from 1976 to 1987 (Parliamentary Committee Proceedings) before becoming chief of staff, then assistant to the superintendent of a school board (from 1987 to 1994).

Nadine Faussurier is at once co-president, translator, reviser, and manager of human resources. She holds degrees in French and in translation and has studied psychology and business administration.

Diane Palen, co-president and administrator, studied business management at university and also holds two certificates, one as a legal secretary and the other in supervision. She has some twenty years of management experience, including experience in a school board setting. Ms. Palen, who has been with ComTra Inc. since the company was founded, is primarily responsible for customer service, assigning work, managing documents, and overseeing office operations.
